About Texas Community FCU

☆ Mission

We are a full-service not-for-profit cooperative financial institution formed for the purpose of encouraging savings. We are committed to the principle of helping our members achieve financial stability and to work collectively for the greater good of all.

Our mission is to provide the most helpful products and services for all our members and to promote community development for the improvement of the social and economic conditions of low-income and underserved communities.

☆ Community Involvement

We are proud to support our community. Since our beginning in January 1937, the credit union has been actively engaged in the promotion and development of various programs to give back to the community, raise funds and support local organizations. Our employees are encouraged to become actively involved in our community at all levels. Through donations and sponsorships, we support not for profit organizations, local businesses and residents of our community.

☆ Sponsorship and Donations

Texas Community Federal Credit Union offers assistance to nonprofit groups and their fund raising efforts through donations whenever possible. As an organization, we receive numerous donation requests monthly.

We ask anyone interested in applying for a donation to review our procedures and mail their application for a donation. It is important to note that Texas Community Federal Credit Union’s primary area of support is Education.

Donation Application Procedure

Applications for donations must be submitted in writing on the letterhead of the organization requesting the donation, and all requests shall include the following:

◉ A contact name, address and telephone number

◉ Event date and location, as applicable

◉ Copy of the requesting organization's 501(c)(3) documents

◉ Purpose of the event or use of funds

◉ General description and information about the event, as applicable

◉ A statement explaining why Texas Community Federal Credit Union should consider making a donation to the organization

We must receive the request at least four weeks prior to the preferred funding date. Duplicate or multiple requests through any means or by any means may delay or disqualify an event. Therefore only one request should be submitted. All requests will be handled by marketing.

We strive to assist as many groups as possible with donations. However, due to numerous requests annually, donations to an individual, organization or event are not likely to be extended more than once per year.

☆ The JOB Program

Joint Opportunities for Business and Job Creation (JOB) can help you start a business or grow your existing one. The program offers you the following benefits and advantages:

◉ Free business counseling and assistance to develop a business plan and a marketing plan. A business plan is a map toward your goals and a critical tool for business success. A marketing plan outlines your strategy to be competitive in your area. These two plans are essential to every business.

☆ History

Our history is as rich as South Texas. On January 4, 1937, Missouri Pacific Kingsville Employees Federal Credit Union was granted a charter to become a credit union for the railroad employees of South Texas, and thus our story began.

In August 1966, the credit union charter was amended to change our name to Missouri Pacific Employees (Kingsville Division) Federal Credit Union and in January 1971 all member accounts became federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration. Then in December 1978 the charter was amended for the third time changing our name to Kingsville Community Federal Credit Union with the purpose of serving railroad employees and Kingsville area residents.

In 1979, Kingsville Kleberg County Government Employees Federal Credit Union was merged with KCFCU, adding 437 new members to our credit union family. Since then, the City of Kingsville employees and Kleberg Memorial Hospital employees, now Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, have joined our credit union and are a part of our family of members. With the name change, Kingsville Community Federal Credit Union was open for membership to "all who live, work or attend church in our community."

Following NCUA approval of charter expansion, in May 2016, the Board of Directors passed an amendment to change the name of the credit union to Texas Community Federal Credit Union.
